My Lazy Day!
Last year, I made the decision to seek counseling services in order to address my tendency to strive for perfection in all aspects of my life. During my therapy sessions, my therapist recommended that I incorporate a designated day into my weekly schedule for relaxation and leisure, appropriately named a “Lazy Day.” On this particular day, I was encouraged to refrain from engaging in activities such as grocery shopping, household chores, and even cooking. However, it was understood that certain responsibilities like caring for a newborn or a pet would be exceptions to this rule. The therapist believed that implementing a “Lazy Day” would contribute positively to my relationship with my spouse, fostering a healthier dynamic between us.
Long story short, I talked to my husband about making a “Lazy Day” sort of a traditional thing because my therapist strongly encouraged it, and he thought it was a great idea. We decided that every Saturday would be our “Lazy Day.” So every Saturday we order out, take turns picking a movie and pretty much lounge for the entire day. Not only is it kind of fun, but it also gives my husband and I a chance too caught up and talk about anything and everything.
List of Things to Do on a Lazy!
- Amateur Painting
- Sleep in late on days off.
- Make yourself have a picnic at a park. I saw people doing this at park and wanted to copy them.
- Flying a Kite.
- Throwing a Frisbee. This may sound cheesy but it is quite relaxing
- Movie marathon. I picked all of the Die Hard movies for a movie marathon on one lazy day.
- Meditate where ever you are, the couch, the bed, your background yard etc.
- Pig Out or eat out either at a resturant or at home.
