Disneys Art of Animation Resort
There are several hotels outside of Disney World that are very close to the Park in Orlando if you choose not to sleep at a resort on the property. We chose to sleep at the Art of Animation resort. The lodging I picked was “The Little Mermaid” standard room. I picked this room because my favorite Disney Movie is “The Little Mermaid,” and it was within our budget. Truly, Disney World Resort is an adventure that awaits you with every visit.

This resort is without a doubt a 10/10 in my opinion. The Dining Hall and the Gift Shops were stunning. There was a variety of different foods to choose from in the dining area. The largest pool at Walt Disney World is located at this resort. You can also wash and dry your clothes in the 24-hour laundry area located near the pool. This provides all the conveniences of a Disney Resort, where an adventure at Disney World awaits.
This resort is also an exterior corridor hotel. In other words, it is a motel-style lodging. This means that you will enter your room from an exterior entry (shown in the “back view” photo of the resort below) verses an interior entry. The resort is a four-story building that also includes an elevator.
Hourglass Lake
Another eye candy view at the Arts of Animation is the gorgeous Hourglass Lake touching the property. You can take the walking path near the lake for a quiet morning scroll. A fun thing that I liked about staying here were the small “fun fact” plaques we saw around the lake area. I myself learned quite a bit about the history of “The Little Mermaid” back story from reading these plaques. For example, the original story was pretty scary and not “Disney” friendly. Also, the Author of the story was Danish Author Hans Christian Andersen. He also wrote other Disney favorites like “Thumbelina,” “The Ugly Duckling,” and “The Princess and the Pea.”
Keep in mind there are also warning signs surrounding the lake warning visitors of Alligators. The walking path is far enough for the edge of the water that I doubt an alligator would come that far from the water onto the land. The lake is just to view only, not to swim, touch or fish in.

We had the pleasure of being right next to the Lion King Family Suites. Looking up at a giant size Timon and Pumba and of course little Simba, was wild. There were also replicas of the “Elephant Bone Yard” as seen in Lion King movie. It reminds you that the kid in you is still very much alive. This is a unique charm of every Disney resort. Indeed, exploring the Disney World Resort unveils an adventure that awaits you. It captivates your imagination throughout your stay.

Recreation Activities
Another cool feature you will see while staying at every Disney resort is the outdoor movie area. At night, each resort will play an outdoor movie on a huge screen. You can bring your own blanket and snacks or hop into the dining area to grab a bite to eat. Then, bring it outside with you before the movie starts. Your kids will love this and the outdoor campfire area where they will enjoy making s’mores. If you’re contemplating whether to stay at a Resort on the property, these features might just firmly assure you. Disney World Resort: An Adventure that Awaits You is a fitting description.
