Air Purifier: Improve Your Indoor Air Quality

Breathe in Breathe out! We say a lot of that nowadays I’m sure. Getting an air purifier is something I don’t think many people think about. We don’t think about breathing of course because we just do it…we have to.

You’d be surprised at how much poor air quality effects our everyday life. Studies have shown that poor air can increase the aging process and have a negative affect on our skin. Having an air purifier can help mitigate these effects by providing cleaner air especially if you live in the city like I do.

Other affects bad air can generate are irritation to the eyes and nose and the biggest problem is of course respiratory infections. Air purifiers like Blueair for example can help. Respiratory problems can result in shortness of breath, asthma, and wheezing. You will probably be surprised to learn that poor air quality has been linked to the increase risk of developing dementia.

Having an air purifier is essential to the household. Not only is it essential, it is healthcare and self-care. These are very useful when you are cooking in your home. Why? When you cook, smoke swims through the air. Air purifiers are essential to rid of the smoke so if you or a child in your home have health issues, having this item in your home is a must.

There are many affordable air purifiers on Amazon, some small, some big you are bound to find the perfect size you are.

How Having an Air Purifier Has Improved the Air in My Home

I’m not sure why, but I use to breathe loudly for some reason. When I would sit down to watch television quietly, I can could hear myself breathing. My husband would say to me many times “Why are you breathing so loud.” My response would be “I don’t know.”

I suffered from severe allergies and horrible ear infections growing up. In high school, I developed something called Sinusitis. If you’ve never heard of this, it is a sinus infection within the sinus linings. My face felt heavily swollen, I couldn’t breath from my nose, and my throat burned so bad that I was horse from all most two weeks. If you would’ve asked me, on a scale between 1 – 10 how bad the pain was, I would’ve told you 12. My body just could not get it together when it came to sinus issues.

Not long after that, I found out that I had nasal polyps in my head. I suffered from strong migraines every single day for years and I didn’t really know why. One day a polyp tried to come out of my nose. I went to the emergency room where a MRI was done. The X-Ray showed that I had polyps that covered the entire right side of my head. I could not believe what I was seeing. The Physician told me that it looked like the polyps had been there for a number of years. He said that I would need surgery to get them removed. After the surgery, my migraines eased tremendously. Granted, I still had migraines but it was no where near where they were before.

After a battle with allergies again, it seemed like off-the counter medication were only temporary fixes. We decided the try an air purifier after doing some google researching. We didn’t see a difference right away because it takes time of purifiers to circulate the air in a house. One thing I will tell you is that I my sinus have greatly improved without question. I also use to breath loudly all of the time, and that is one thing I have not done in a long time. We are so satisfied with the air purifier that we bought a second, then a third one.

The first air purifier we purchased was the (Winix C545) air purifier. We now have three air purifiers in my home. One in my sons room, one in our bedroom, and one in the living room.

The goal for this year is breathe better, sleep better, make healthier choices, and keep that skin glowing. Cheers to purifying your happy healthy home!
