Mother’s Day Activities That Won’t Break the Bank

When celebrating Mothers Day on a budget, try to focus on heartfelt activities such as cooking together, homemade arts and crafts, creating a scrapbook for Mothers Day, or a simple inexpensive outing. Maybe a walk on the beach if you live near a beach. These Mothers Day activities will make the day special.

Easy Gestures to Make Mom Feel Loved

  • Grilling Some Great Simple Food. I don’t know about your mom but my mom loves grilled ribs, hamburgers you name it. That easily makes her happy. If you don’t want to spend too much on food, just keep it simple. Burgers and fries is all you need. Nothing fancy. Something yummy in her tummy is her happy place, making Mothers Day special.

  • Taking a Fun Walk in Interesting Spots. A nice walk with interesting scenery in some cool places. Maybe walk into some cool stores that you guys may have passed by during a previous walk perhaps. Nothing wrong with exploring new places in my book. My mom and I walked into a retro skate store once, and man that was the coolest thing ever during our Mothers Day walk, one of our favorite Mothers Day activities.

  • Try Scrapbooking If you’ve never done scrapbooking before, you’re in for a treat. You guys will have fun making this book and it will open up great conversation with you and mom, especially on Mothers Day, an activity to cherish. Cutting out pictures from magazines, printing images from the web, or perhaps getting some great ideas from Pinterest is a great start on your scrapbook journey.

  • Play Broad Games Broad games are the most fun I swear. It can be any game not just a broad game. A lot of laughing and just plain Jane fun. Allow mom to pick her favorite broad game or a new game that she may be curious about, and let it flow. Just being at home with her and close loved ones and playing a game will make Mothers Day Fun Fun Fun. This is one of those Mothers Day activities that bring joy to everyone.
  • Painting During the Covid-19 shut downs, painting was something I wanted to explore. It is actually easier than it may look depending on what you are painting. If your mom is like mine and has been tapped into painting ever, this would be a super fun activity to dive into on Mother’s Day. Not only will this be an exciting thing to try for the first time if your mom, or even you have never done it before. The timid feeling of trying this new thing will make this even more unforgettable. My suggestion would be to look at YouTube videos on “Painting for Beginners,” as your guide just as I did when I gave painting a try. You can pause videos in between your painting session as you paint. Definitely start out with something simple to paint such as a coffee mug or flower(s). It’s totally up to mom.
