Forget store bought jam, homemade jam is where it’s at! I absolutely love making jam and man does it taste so darn good. It doesn’t last long at my place that’s for sure. Please enjoy my recipe for my homemade strawberry jam and feel free to share it with loved ones. This is also to cute goody bag gift and I gift you could give a loved one for Valentines Day.
Foods this Jam Pairs Well With
- Toasted sliced baguette is probably one of my favorite food items to eat with this jam. It truly complements the strawberry jam delightfully. Not to mention with a smooth glass of white.
- Placing strawberry jam on toasted bread with your favorite meat(s) is superb. Honestly one of my favorite dish combos ever. It is common to pair this combination with a charcuterie board or a cheese board.
- Cream Cheese with homemade strawberry jam will leave you wanting more. This is such an amazing spread combination. I love to spread these two together on a freshly toasted bagel with a cup of coffee. Trust me, this is far better then the pre-flavored cream cheese off the shelf at the grocery store. So good!
- One of my favorite foods to pair strawberry jam with is vanilla yogurt. This mix is beyond delicious. The best way to eat this is to dip fruit such as strawberries and sliced apples into the jam and yogurt mix.

Ingredients
- (3) 12 oz containers of strawberries
- 2 teaspoons of raw sugar (or sugar of your liking)
- 3 tablespoons of honey
- 3 teaspoons of lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons of cornstarch
Steps
1
First things first, rinse the strawberries with luke warm water. Next, on top of a clean surface, you will cut the strawberries (diced) to prepare them for your delicious strawberry jam.
2
After you’ve cut the strawberries, prep a small sauce pan on the stove. Pour about 2 cups of water in the pan and turn the hot on medium (you don’t necessarily want boiling water). This ensures that the jam has the right consistency.
3
Once you’ve poured the water into the pan, you will then put the cut strawberries into the pan. Place a lid on top of the pan and let the strawberries simmer for about 10 minutes. Stirring occasionally helps in achieving the perfect consistency for your homemade strawberry jam.
4
After 10 minutes or when the strawberries are a little soft, stir and add the lemon juice, sugar and honey. Stir all of the ingredients together and add a little more water if needed and allow the mixture to simmer for 30 minutes.
5
After 30 minutes, sprinkle the cornstarch little by little into the mixture and stir. Make sure you taste test for course. Allow the mixture to simmer for another 30 minutes. After the mixture has become smooth, let it cool. Store the jam in a glass container and refrigerate. After it has been refrigerated for some time, serve and enjoy your strawberry jam creation!
