Embracing the Excitement of our Maternity Shoot!

What can I say! This shoot was everything I had dreamed of and then some. I had a studio type of maternity shoot in my mind at first, but my good friend suggested an outdoor oasis for capturing stunning maternity photos.

We’ve never done pictures like this before and I wanted this photo session to be magical since this was our first rodeo. I nor my husband recall seeing actual maternity photos within our families growing up so this was a big deal for us.

If you want to capture this memorable moment but not sure how, I suggest making your theme nature-based. This theme is probably the easiest, and the cheapest way to get that angelic look for this special occasion. Outdoor maternity photos fit perfectly with this theme.

One tip our photographer gave us:

1. When taking photos outside, the best time to capture that glow is right before the sun will set.

What do you envision for this special moment? I see my son and his children looking back at these photos and keeping them in the family for a long time to come. One tradition we want to try to start is taking more family-like photos like this for any occasion that involve maternity moments and photographs.

The photos were taken at Prospect Farms located in Lawrenceville, GA, a 21 acre paradise were more than fields of wildflowers can be utilized for awesome photo backgrounds.

My Dress

My all-white maternity dress was purchased at Momyknowbest. I looked in various stores in person and online and between Shein and Momyknowsbest, these were the only two stores where I found very nice looking dresses that were affordable. This was perfect for capturing the ideal maternity photos. We took our pictures during the summer and it was hot! This dress had me sweating my butt off but I played it off pretty well. If you want to wear this dress you will definitely want to wear it indoors, and during cooler months to be comfortable.
